Obituary of James Herbert Haralson

James Herbert Haralson, 61, of Spurger passed away peacefully on August 9, 2018.

Born October 13, 1956 in Woodville, Texas to Joe and Margaret Bennet Haralson, he lived in Houston and San Augustine before moving to Spurger.  He was retired from the Houston Police Department, served as Chief Deputy for San Augustine Sheriff’s Office and served on the San Augustine Police Department.   James was a devoted family man and a friend who was respected and loved.

James was preceded in death by his father, Joe Haralson; wife, Barbara Haralson and a brother, Jerry Haralson.

James is survived by his son, Jesse Haralson of Spurger; mother, Margaret Haralson of Spurger; brother, Joe Waymond Haralson and wife, Alice Dale of Texas City; nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 13, 2018, at 10 am at the First Baptist Church in Spurger.
