Obituary of Albert Wayne Swatsell
Albert Wayne Swatsell, 81, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2015 in the small town of Woodville, Texas. He was the husband of Shirley Swatsell. They shared thirty-eight wonderful years of marriage together. He was born in Winnsboro, Texas on November 1, 1933. He was the son of Henry Albert Swatsell and Emma Mae Davis. He served in the Air Force until 1956 as a Flight Engineer. After leaving the Air Force, he was self-employed as an electrical general contractor until he became employed at Brown and Root. Once he was there, he quickly moved up in rank becoming Senior Divisional Construction Manager. After twenty-three years, he retired from there, accepting a Vice President job at Erbauer Construction Company.
He was a member of Midway Community Church where he served as a deacon. He spent nine months remodeling and expanding the church. He loved God and the people of the church, where he served as a greeter, a job he loved very much.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, best friend, and a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Wayne enjoyed doing wood work, ranching, gardening, hunting and spending time with his family. You could always find him sitting on the patio in his favorite chair or in the pasture tending his animals.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Benfield Swatsell; sister Juanita and husband Warren Attaway; children: John O. and wife Carrie Swatsell, Jerry W. and wife Kelly Swatsell, and Teri and husband Roy Cook; grandchildren Roxanne Lourcey, John Swatsell, Jr., Courtney and husband Kevin Lively, Cassidy and wife Tabitha Swatsell, Chelsea Swatsell, Leah Swatsell, and Christian Swatsell; and six great-grandchildren: Dannon, Samuel, KJ, Hunter, Carter, and Mason.
