Obituary of Marjorie Louise Foxworth
Marjorie Louise Flynn Foxworth, loving mother and grandma, age 92, entered Heaven's eternal gates on Monday, November 10, 2014. She passed away at the Woodville Health and Rehab Center in Woodville, Texas.
She was born on January 24, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas to Annie Nitsch and Thomas William Flynn. She was Valedictorian of the 1939 graduating class of St. Gerard's Catholic School in San Antonio.
Marjorie married Thomas Aubrey Foxworth on November 3, 1940. They were married for 52 years until his death in 1992.
She was a long time member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church in Warren, Texas. Many special friendships were developed at her church.
Marjorie will be especially remembered for her smile, her gentle kind spirit and her love of God. She enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time with her large family and her dogs; gardening, growing beautiful flowers and feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Clarence Thomas Flynn and Arthur Frank Flynn, her sisters Dorothy Eleanor Flynn and Maxine Flynn, her husband Thomas A. Foxworth, son-in-law William C. Briggs and special family friend Robert L. Powers.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara A. Briggs of Pasadena, TX, son Thomas A. Foxworth Jr. and wife Judy of Colmesneil, TX, daughter Rose Mary Tooke of Woodville, TX, son W. Douglas Foxworth and wife Ann of Austin, TX, son Joseph E. Foxworth and wife Judy of La Porte, TX and son Kenneth A. Foxworth and wife Brenda of La Porte, TX. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A very special Thank You to the staff and volunteers at Woodville Health and Rehab Center and Gentiva Hospice for the exceptional love, care and compassion shown to our mother and grandma.
Memorial Services will be held Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 2pm at Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Pisgah Community Cemetery in Woodville, TX.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
