Obituary of Malcolm Coburn

Malcolm “Mac” Coburn, 65, of Colmesneil passed away Friday October 17, 2014 in Beaumont. Mac was born June 27, 1949 in Florien, LA to Artis and Velma Owens Coburn. They have preceded him in death as well as a son, Douglas Eugene Coburn; his sister Betty Sue Weldon; and his brother, James Ray Coburn. Mac married Rose Tidwell on June 28, 1993 in Angleton, TX. She survives him at the family home. He is also survived by 6 stepchildren: Vickey Ort of Conroe, TX; Arvis Haggard of Texarkana, Ark; Pamela St.Peter of Humble, TX; Jeffery Haggard of Plum Grove, TX; Clifford Haggard of New Waverly, TX; Lynda Clancy of Colmesneil, TX; brother Kenneth Coburn of Florien, LA; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren: nephews Josh Coburn of Pineville, LA; Justin Coburn of Timpson, TX; and Tommy Lynn Coburn of Many, LA. Mac was a retired correctional officer with the TDC and a member of the First Baptist Church in Colmesneil. Visitation will be Monday October 20, 2014 from 5-7 pm at the church. Services are scheduled for Tuesday October 21, 2014 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Colmesneil. Brother Brian Givens and Brother Raymond Desider will officiate. Burial will follow in the Colmesneil City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cliff Haggard, Jeff Haggard, Steve St. Peter, Vance Cowart, Caleb Stone, and Casey Haggard. After the burial, there will be a Life Celebration at the church. All are welcome to attend.
