My dearest Ms. Pernoud: I am broken-hearted to learn of your passing. I'm so sad and cannot stop crying, but am remembering your words of strength. You were more than just my 4th grade teacher, you were my best friend, my confidant, my inspiration, and most importantly my second mother. May you finally rest in peace. You were a true soldier of God, and though I know you have left this world once before and returned as God asked of you, the extra time you were here, you did so much. I know that you're in heaven right now looking down and wishing I wouldn't cry, but a huge piece of my heart is gone. I will miss you terribly. I love you, mother. Thank you for the joy, pain, laughter, lessons, and love you shared with me in my life. I only hope to continue to make you proud.
Always,
Your son Aiden-Michael (Roger)

God brought you into my life at the tender age of 10; we became the best of friends. You not only were an educator in my life, but you housed me, clothed me, fed me, allowed me to help you raise your biological son, taught me how to drive, showed me what class and a closet full of Chanel looked like, and taught me to always be what God intended me to be no matter who judged me. Thank you for touching my life, my spirit, my heart, and my soul. Our friendship seemed odd to others, but you and I always had the last laugh. I'll always love you and I will NEVER forget you! You were my second mother, and I could not have asked our Heavenly Father for a more beautiful Angel to help guide me for the past 24 years in the ways that you have. Thank you so, so much.
