Obituary of Mary Lou Johannessen

Mary L. Johannessen, 78, of Warren passed away August 14, 2014. Born May 5, 1936 in Trinity, Texas to the late James and Ida Zimmerman Riddle, she lived in Woodville for forty-five years before moving to Warren. Mary enjoyed life especially spending time with her family who she loved dearly. She liked to go camping and enjoyed the outdoors. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James and John Riddle. She resided in Warren for three years with her companion of ten years, Ellis Acree. Mary is survived by her loving daughters, Phyllis Kirkland and husband, Woody of Diboll, Paula Davis of Woodville, Cynthia Mentzel and husband, Matt of Warren, Christy Owens and husband, Robert of Woodville; brothers, Reese Riddle of Houston and Tony Riddle of Magnolia; grandchildren, Brock Kirkland, Sonona Williams, Brice Kirkland, B. J. Kirkland, Jennifer Welch, Carrie Juricik, Heath Sims, Chance Sims, Quinton Shird, Misty Shird, Amy Owens and Bobby Owens; twenty-three great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren; her best friend her schnauzer dog, Jo-Jo and a host of other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at the Hillister Baptist Church, 258 FM 1013, Hillister, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Shelter in Woodville, Texas.
