Obituary of Lucian Arvie Ingram
Lucian Arvie “Red” Ingram, age 89, passed away the night of August 3rd, 2014 following an outpouring of love and admiration by his family in Baytown, TX.
Lucian Arvie Ingram was born February 12, 1925 in Arkansas, the youngest of 3 children and only son to Arvie & Velma Ingram. The family later moved and he was raised in Texas. At the age of 16, “Red” faked his paperwork to join the U.S. Navy following Pearl Harbor. After serving on submarines in WWII, he returned home, finished college and graduated from TCU. He met the love of his life, Mary Louise, “the girl across the street” and they were married December 2, 1949. They later settled in Houston, TX and were blessed in raising 5 children. He loved to fish and as a family, made many memories on the beach. “Red” retired as an Engineer with Welex / Halliburton in 1986. He and Mary then built a home and settled in Woodville, TX.
Lucian Arvie “Red” Ingram will be remembered as a Patriot… A loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend. “Red” was a teacher, mentor, and listener.
He is survived by his 5 children; daughter Phyllis Trousdale and husband Jimmy, daughter Leslie Enriquez and husband Ishmael, daughter Rebecca Knight and husband Thom, daughter Carla Pitts and husband Greg, son Paul Ingram and wife Tori. “Red” is also survived by his 5 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 13 great grandchildren, as well as other extended family.
His BIG HUGS and a PAT will greatly be missed. But with that being said, “Red” and his beloved “Mac” (Mary) are getting to share another cup of coffee- she is finally getting a “Warm Up” after 20 years.
The Ingram family would like to take the time to say Thank you to both JoAnn Blair and the staff of Remington Park. The love and care provided to him is greatly appreciated.
