Obituary of Patricia Darlene Englesen
Patricia "Patty" Darlene Stockton Engelsen went home to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, peacefully at her home with her two girls by her side, in Woodville, Texas on August 28, 2019 at 2:11pm.
She was preceded in death by her parents Waymon Dewitt Stockton and Katie Lee Stockton, her brother Dwight Waymon Stockton, and sister Anna Mae Stockton.
She is survived by her husband Mark Engelsen, her daughters Roberta Lee Matthews and April Dawn Abila, her niece Dawn Michelle Coffin and her husband, Paul Conroy, her grandchildren Vivian Eileen Loduca, Adam Corey Rasmovicz, Joshua Thomas Bellomy, and Alyssa Dawn Matthews.
Patty lived her life as a devout Christian with a strong faith in Jesus. She was born in Laredo, Texas and spent the first part of her childhood growing up in the Rio Grande Valley. At age 12, she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado and lived there until she graduated from Air Academy High, in Colorado Springs, where she was a cadet in the marching band and played the alto saxophone. After living in several different states, she made her way back to Texas.
In her 20s she was an awesome dancer and entered many dance contests and even competed to be on the show, Dance Fever. Her love for music was a constant throughout her life and she had a beautiful voice and sang at many events and also, at her church. Patty was an animal lover and ran a private cat sanctuary for 15 years. She enjoyed crafts and quilting and made many beautiful quilts for her family and friends.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. A special thanks to those who spent the last few days of Patty's life helping her and just being by her side, Maryann Terry, the loving hospice team, 1st Quality Hospice, Maria Campos, Carol Meador, Jeri Snodgrass, Michelle Ryan, Sergio Cedillo and David Scott Matthews.
A memorial service will be held in Houston, Texas near Patty's birthday, Saturday, October 19, 2019.
