So sorry to hear of the passing of this special man. If you are lucky enough in life, you will cross paths again with those who are truly exceptional. I first met Dickie Bean as young boys growing up in Nederland. We lived one street over and would always have rousing football or baseball games in the front yard. As the years passed, we went our separate ways and began different lives. Moving back to SE Texas following retirement, I became a substitute teacher at Warren High School, where I was again placed in Dickie's presence. He was now, Mr. Bean, Assistant Principal. Some great times we spoke of prior to the start of the school day...times that were memorable and special. Condolences to the Bean family in this difficult time. 'Dickie', Ritchard, Mr. Bean is in a much better and well deserved place.

You and Judy were such a blessing to me through our time of fellowship and friendship. You were never just a pastor to any of us at First Baptist Village Mills. You were "that friend" that we could always count on, "that smile" we always knew would greet us, "just the right words" we needed to hear. God heard you when you gave your life to shepherd His flock and He gave you the right wife and the right disposition to make a difference in all our lives. I am thankful for the privilege of knowing you and being lead by you. You have left a great legacy in your children and grandchildren.
You meant a lot to Bill and me that you would officiate our marriage. We always hoped that you would be able to enjoy the lake with us, but that wasn't in the cards. Judy you are always welcome now.

My condolences to the Bean family. The best part high school were the 4 years I spent in Ritchard's Spanish classes. 20 years later, I can clearly remember how he made learning fun and challenging, but more importantly, I will always remember him for his compassion and how respectfully he treated everyone around him. He has left a lasting imprint in my life, I will never forget him. He was a great teacher, a wonderful mentor, and one of the best human beings that I have ever met. I'm sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I remember working with Ritchard when I first hired on the Beaumont Police Department. He always was smiling or laughing, and loved to test my television knowledge with trivia questions. I then had to pleasure to also work with Tim.The entire Bean family are in my prayers.

He was my teacher throughout high school. He may have taught Spanish, but I learned more things about life from him than anyone else. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
