Obituary of Marthell Anglin Risinger

Marthell Anglin Risinger, 93, of Colmesneil, Texas passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, early Monday morning, July 22nd, 2019, at HCA Houston Healthcare surrounded by her family. 

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 27th, 2019, at 11:00am at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville, Texas. 

Ms. Risinger was born August 2nd, 1925, in Woodville, Texas.  She graduated from Kirby High School in 1942, and married her high school sweetheart, J.L. Risinger on June 30th, 1944.  They spent the majority of their life in Texas City, Texas where they raised their four children.  Ms. Risinger was a devoted loving wife, mother, and Mamaw to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Ms. Risinger took pride in raising her family and being an extraordinary homemaker.  She was a Charter Member of St. John’s Methodist Church in Texas City, Texas where she served for many years.  Ms. Risinger loved the Lord and taught her children the importance of faith in Jesus Christ.  After retirement she and her husband moved to Colmesneil, Texas where they enjoyed the country life.  During those years one of her many joys were spent planning and attending her annual Kirby High School reunions.  However, her greatest joy in life was when her family all gathered around the same table.  She loved holidays and was known for her amazing meals.  She was a true Southern Lady who held tight to her beliefs throughout her life. 

Ms. Risinger is preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Risinger, her daughter, Melissa Ann Berry, her son, Jim Risinger, her father, A.L. Anglin, her mother, Russell Anglin, her brother, Arthur Gene Anglin, her brother, Harold Anglin, and numerous friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Rebecca Risinger, daughter, Julie Beth Puckett and husband Dennis and her son-in-law, Bill Berry.  Survivors also include her grandchildren, Doug Berry, and wife Brandi, Julie Lister and husband, Tim, Ann Cash, and husband Matt, Manon Puckett, Clay Puckett, and wife Traci, and Brandon Risinger.  Great grandchildren include, Tyler Cash, and fiancée Julie Cavanaugh, Bobby Lister, Billy Lister, Taylor Cash, Emily Lister, Ryan Berry, Jenna Berry, Lillian Puckett, and Corbin Puckett.
