Obituary of Myrtis Lois Collins

Myrtis Lois Collins, 77, of Hillister passed away July 4, 2019.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas to the late, Paul and Verna Arceneaux, she lived in Hillister for twenty-five years.  She was a member of the Spurger United Methodist Church.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her.

Myrtis was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joyce Devers.

She is survived by her loving husband, Cecil R. Collins, Sr.; daughter, Susan Frederick of Buna; sons, Cecil R. (C.R) Collins, Jr. of Vidor, Richard Joseph Collins and wife, Diane of Silsbee and Ernest David Collins of Zavalla; grandchildren, Brian A. Collins, Jennifer R. Gates, Heather Barnett, Brooklynn Collins, Brittany Collins, Dylan Frederick and wife Kaylor, Dustin Frederick, Brandy Martin, and David Martin; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Marlene Wood, Ovelia Battaglio, Barbara Martin and husband, David, Roxie Castilaw; brothers, LeRoy Arceneaux, Sidney Arceneaux, Gene Arceneaux, Paul Arceneaux, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Priddy, Martha Lind; and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be, Dylan Frederick, Dustin Frederick, Shawn Saunders, David Martin, Cecil R. Collins, Jr. and Richard Collins.

Funeral service will be held Monday, July 8, 2019, at 2 pm at the Spurger United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the Beech Creek Cemetery in Spurger.  Visitation will be held Monday from 12 until the time of the service at the church.
