Obituary of Robert Lee Thompson
Robert Lee Thompson, 87, of Woodville passed away May 1, 2019.
Born December 19, 1931 in Huntington, Texas to the late Bronson “B.C.” and Ada Mae Russell, he lived in Woodville for many years. He was retired as a tool pusher for Transworld with 42 years of experience. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Hopewell Methodist Church and Yellow Pine Masonic Lodge #679.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, son, Robert “Bobby” Thompson, brothers, Albert “Pee Wee” Russell and Irvin Russell and a sister, Ruby Mae Roberts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Louise Rawls Thompson; daughter, Bonnie “Susie” Stevens and husband, Gene of Village Mills; son, Delbert Leroy Davis of Woodville; brother, James H. “Shorty” Russell of Huntington; sister, Carolyn Broussard and husband, Charles of Trinity; grandchildren, David Lee Davis and wife, Jessica of Woodville, Byron Glenn Davis of Woodville, Justin Travis Smith of Warren, Christopher Allen Thompson of Sulfur, LA; great grandchildren, Christian Chenyworth, Roman, Charlene and Kakey Davis all of Woodville; numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, May 5, 2019, at 3 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Randy Herrington officiating. A Masonic and Military graveside service will follow at the Ferrell Cemetery in Town Bluff. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 5 pm until 8 pm.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Lee Davis, Byron Davis, Justin Smith, Jimmy Russell, Tommy Grimes and Corey Knight. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Derrick Broussard, Christian Chenyworth, Roman Davis and Kakey Davis.
