Obituary of Wilbert Carl Bruton

Wilbert Carl “W. C.” Bruton, 79, of Colmesneil passed away peacefully unto his Lord and Savior on March 3, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

W. C. was born May 17, 1939 in Houston, Texas to the late Franklin and Katherine Adams Bruton, he lived in Colmesneil most of his life.  He loved to do work with his tractor and teach his grandchildren the value of a hard day’s work.  He lived to love and loved to live and it showed when you stopped in for coffee at his home.  You were not only offered a good cup of coffee but a talk that ended at the end of the driveway.  He loved his family very much but loved Jesus most of all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Penny Bruton; and eleven siblings.

W. C. is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Grace Bruton; sons, Carl Bruton of Colmesneil, Spencer Bruton and wife, Twillia of Trinity, Donald Bruton and wife, Dixie of Colmesneil, Darrell Bruton and wife, Pam of Colmesneil, Ramon Follmar and wife, Dena of Colmesneil; daughter, Katherine Weaver and husband, Garry Mac of Colmesneil; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at the Agape Church in Colmesneil at 1 pm with Sister Virginia Harrison officiating.  A horse driven wagon will take W. C. to the Colmesneil City Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019, from 5 until 8 pm at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Spencer Bruton, Jr., Chril Bruton, Brett Williamson, Cody Bruton, Daniel Bruton, Joey Bruton, Phillip Bruton and Tyler Bruton.   Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his great grandsons.
