Obituary of Billy Ross Burks
Billy Ross Burks, 81, of Warren passed away May 29, 2018.
Born September 17, 1937 in Henderson, Texas to the late Cline and Margie Burks, he moved to Warren where he raised his family and became active in the community. He was an Army Veteran and the eldest of six children. Billy and Jeanette were the owners and operators of Little Ace Drive In in Warren where people in the community went for a warm smile, great tasting food and a kind word. Billy was active in the Warren Volunteer Fire Department, little league baseball, Warren ISD Athletic Department, Warren Booster Club, an avid horseman, fisherman and gardener. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved the Lord, his family and his community.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Burks; sons, Rex Burks and wife, Terri of Sims, Richard Burks and wife, Meredith of White Oak, Rocky Burks and wife, Gloria of Warren, Rodney Burks and wife, Kendra of Vidor; grandchildren, Alyson Haggard of White Oak, Zach Burks of New Boston, Lean Clift of White Oak, Jamie Burks of Warren, Kayla Burks of Sims, Joshua Burks of Warren, Espyn Burks of Vidor, Jordyn Burks of Vidor and Gracyn Gilbreath of Vidor; great grandchildren, Lane, Luke, Ruston, and Junson Haggard of White Oak, Cooper Hilton and Kipton Burks of New Boston, Branson Clift of White Oak; brothers, Pete Burks and iwfe, Martha of Henderson and Jimmy Burks and wife, Toni of Hallsville; sisters, Cathy Fredricks and husband, John of Hallsville and Mary Morelock and husband, Marty of Dickson, TN; eleven nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018, at 12 noon at the Bethel Baptist Church in Warren with Brother Ken Cauthen officiating. Visitation will be Thursday starting at 11 am until the time of the service at the church. Grave side service will be held Thursday at 5 pm at the Strong Cemetery in Henderson, Tx.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rex Burks, Richard Burks, Rocky Burks, Rodney Burks, Zach Burks and Joshua Burks.
