Obituary of Dorothy Hazel Jackson

Dorothy Jackson entered eternal rest on May 27, 2018 in Woodville, Tx with her family by her bedside. Ms. Jackson was a very devoted Christian woman.  She was born in Louisiana on September 5, 1925.  She moved to Stowell, Tx with her parents, Pastor and Mrs. CB Melancon and the family in the 1940’s.  Brother Melancon was Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Stowell until his death.  In the early 1970’s, Ms. Jackson moved to the Lakes area to be near her children.

     She is survived by two sons, Jackie Jackson of Woodville, Tx and Thomas Jackson and his wife Bonnie of Athens, Tx, five grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Ray Melancon of Tulsa, Ok, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

     Ms. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

     A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Winnie, Tx.  Arrangements were entrusted to Riley Funeral Home in Woodville, Tx.
