Obituary of Charles Edward Cearley

Charles Edward “Shorty” Cearley, 65, of Warren passed away March 4, 2018.

 

Born December 15, 1952 in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late R.N. and Ellanora Cearley, he lived in Silsbee for twenty-five years before moving to Warren in 2004.  Charles was retired as a boilermaker and from Kountze ISD in maintenance.  Shorty as he was lovingly called by his friends never met a stranger, loved giving nicknames for everyone and was known to everyone as “Uncle Charlie”.  He especially loved his grandson, Liam, and spending many hours doing exactly what Liam wanted to do.  Shorty was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his loved ones and friends.

 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Cearley.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Cearley; son, Charles Cearley, II and wife, Leia of Lumberton; grandson, Liam Cearley of Lumberton; sisters, Louise Whites of Fort Worth and Pat Davis of Lake Worth; brother, Frank Cearley of Alden, Iowa; numerous other family members and friends.

 

Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 11 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Fellowship Cemetery in Warren, Tx.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Whites, Matt Davis, James Whisneant, Luke Whisneant, Steven Whisneant and Kirk Foret.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, 801 Roeder Road, Ste 1000, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
