Obituary of Sarah Ard
Sarah Vay Ard, 81, of Woodville passed away January 20, 2018.
Born July 1, 1936 in Emily, Texas to the late Dow and Mary Hester Dean, she lived in Tyler County all of her life. Sarah had a loving heart and big beautiful smile that lit up the room when she entered. Her capacity to love was unending as shown through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the outdoors and she was an avid gardener. She was a member of the Dogwood Hills Baptist Church and she loved the Lord.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny Ard; daughter, Kaye Walters, Grandson, Kayleb Ard; sisters, Margie Hensarling and Sue Arrant; brother, Ira Ed Dean and step son, Buck Bailey.
She is survived by her loving family, son, James Ard and wife, Susan; daughter, Tracy Bailey Litton; brother, D. B. Dean and wife, Linda; sister, Shirley Brown; grandchildren, Jake and Amanda Ard, Holly and Tommy Henry, Jerry Dow (J.D.) and Desteni Ard, Sarah Jamie-Sage Litton, Amanda and Steve Richie; great grandchildren, Medeaux, Jake, Kayden, Conner, Easton, Aubrianna, Adalyn, Avery, Archer and Allison; step grandchildren, Angel And Shawn Milner, J. D. and Lacy Laurent, Montana and Brittany Laurent; sons-in-law, Clint Walters and James Litton; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at 11 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Trest and Brother Forest Owens officiating. Burial followed at the Hester Cemetery in Warren. Visitation was held Monday from 5 pm until 7 pm at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers were Jake Ard, J. D. Ard, Lance Arrant, Chris Arrant, Bart Dean and Chris Ard. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Sarah Jamie-Sage Litton
