Obituary of Robert E. Johnson

Robert E. Johnson, 85, of Houston passed away January 12, 2018

Born August 22, 1932 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Harry and Billie Johnson, he lived in Houston for many years.  He graduated from Lamar University with an engineering degree at the age of 20 and went to work in the oil and gas industry. He retired in 1990 as a Project Engineering Manager after over forty years of service but continued to work in the industry as a consultant.  Throughout his career, he was highly respected for his work ethic and innovation.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arlen Johnson.

Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara Mahan Johnson; children, Jamie Johnson of Gilbert, Arizona, Becky Johnson Kelly and husband, Pat of Conroe and David Johnson of Houston; grandchildren, Patrick Kelly, Michael Kelly and Aaron Kelly; great grandchild, Kyler Kelly; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Johnson of Vidor and numerous nieces, nephews other family members and friends.

A grave side service will be held Sunday, January 14, 2018, at 2 pm at the Egypt Cemetery in Colmesneil, Tx.

Services were held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
