Obituary of Mary Jean Rivers
Mary Jean Rivers, 85, of Woodville, TX passed away April 16, 2014. Jean was such an inspiration to everyone that came in contact with her. Her faith in the Lord never wavered. Jean and her husband Robert looked in on a lot of people and tended to their needs. She was a loving, caring, and giving person. Jean loved having tea with her dear friends and taking care of her flowers. She loved her family, friends, church, but most of all, she loved the Lord.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert. She is survived by her brother James Parrish and wife, Shirley; sister-in-law Harriet Whitmire; dear friends: Wilma Ross, Carol and Randy Burke, Jim and Melba Bedgood, Tabitha and Josh Branham, Randy Robert, Kim, Kate and John Burke, Arwin and Jane Burkett, and Mary Miles; nephews: James Rivers and wife Suzanne, Robert Rivers and wife Belinda, Troy Dobbs and wife Barbara, Tommy Dobbs and wife Kathy, Dale Parrish and wife Kerrie; nieces: Belinda and husband Archie Connor, Cindy Gaston, Lisa Weeks, LaMerle and husband Buddy Seymour, Janice and husband Marvin Phillips, LaVerne and husband A.D. Dillon, Mildred and husband Tommy Clifton, Billie Ann McDaniel as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, Texas with Brother Neil Higginbotham and Brother Chance Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Parrish Cemetery in Hortense, Texas (Polk County). Serving as Pallbearers will be Jim Bedgood, Arwin Burkett, Tommy Walker, Tommy Clifton, Tommy Dobbs, and Dale Parrish. Honorary Pallbearers are Randy Burke, Randy Robert Burke, Joshua Branham, and Johnathan Burke.
