Obituary of Delores Ann DeHaven

~~~~Delores “Sue” Ann DeHaven, 74, of Woodville passed away November 10, 2017.
Born March 4, 1943 in Winchester, VA to the late Edgar and Dorcas Parker. She married Lewis G. DeHaven on June 10, 1961 and started a long and happy life with him.  She and Lewis moved to Houston in 1977, then to Lake Charles, La in 1992, retiring to Woodville in 2002.  She was an avid quilter and crafter.  She started the Upstairs Quilters at the Woodville United Methodist Church where she was a member. The Upstairs Quilters and the ladies at the Woodville Nutrition Center began making compression pillows for the VA Hospital in Houston in 2006. They have provided over 10,00 pillows for the veterans to date. Sue served as the president of Caring is Sharing in Woodville as well as many other organizations in Texas and Louisiana.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Lewis G. DeHaven; daughters, Holly Lynn McDonald of Pearland and Diane Bhatula of Alvin; brother, Eugene Gess of Strasburg, VA and a niece, Kim Mongold of West Virginia.
Funeral service will be held Monday, November 13, 2017, at 3 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amanda Davis officiating.   Burial will follow at the Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville.  Visitation will be held Monday from 1 pm until the time of the service.
