Obituary of Frances Virginia Worn

~~Virginia Worn passed away August 15, 2017 in Woodville, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born December 9, 1927 in Bainbridge, Georgia. She graduated from Pine Hill High School in 1945.
Virginia met her husband, Hiram, in Bainbridge, Georgia when he was home on leave while serving in the Navy during World War II. They were married December 12, 1945 and settled in Georgia, in 1959 they moved to Louisiana, in 1968 they moved to Texas and in 1984 they moved to Woodville, Texas during this time they raised six children. She was a loving mother devoting her time and energy for the first 21 years to her children, relatives and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and celebrating all occasions. Later she worked for Aldine School District until she retired in 1983, during her career she received many awards and enjoyed attending many career building conventions worldwide.
She was a devoted wife to Hiram for 61 years and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She was very close to her family throughout their lives and attended celebrations, sports and education events.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Worn, her sons, James Worn and Carl Worn, her granddaughter, Lauren Cook, her father, James Lawson Brock, her mother, Lottie Brock, her brothers, Zion Brock, Hubert Brock, Cliff Brock and James Brock.
Virginia is survived by her brother, Charlie Brock, her sons, Larry Worn and Leonard Worn, her daughters, Sandra Schultz and Linda Cook, 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, many other relatives and friends.
The family request in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Cancer Research in her honor.
