Obituary of Shirley Jean Johnson

JOHNSON, SHIRLEY ROSS - Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Riley Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas for Shirley Ross Johnson, age 55, of Colmesneil, Texas who passed away March 27, 2014. Brother Milton Powers will officiate. Burial will follow at Gregory Cemetery in Colmesneil, Texas. Shirley was born on April 29, 1958 in Colmesneil, Texas to Grover and Etta Ried Ross. They have preceded her in death as well as her two brothers, Jimmy Ross and Grover R. Ross, and sister Juanita Minter. She married Bobby Schofield in 1998 in Vidor, Texas. He survives her in Colmesneil, Texas. She is survived by her sister: Mary Bethke of Colmesneil, TX; three sons: Roger Riley of Vidor, TX, Kane Johnson of Houston, TX and Chris Schofield of Colmesneil, TX; and four grandchildren: Caleb Riley, Rachael Riley, Seth Riley, and Ezra Dalton Schofield. Shirley gave unconditional love to her family and was a loving mother to her children. She was very dedicated in accomplishing her goals and a hard worker. She was a high school track star and very athletic. Additionally, she was a champion body-builder and valedictorian of her GED class.
