Obituary of Maurice Hubert Pace
Maurice Hubert Pace passed away from this earth on March 9, 2017, at the age of 92. She was born to James William and Columbia Hubert on March 6, 1925, in Polk County in the Midway Community. Maurice was a graduate of Woodville High School. She married James V. Pace on August 23, 1942.
Maurice was active at Proctor Street Church of Christ. She was Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star “OES” in Port Arthur and was also a member of Daughters of the Nile. In addition, she owned a hair salon from 1963 to 1971, also in Port Arthur.
Maurice was very talented and had a wide variety of interests. She loved to sew, garden, cook, decorate, and antique shop. Maurice also enjoyed hunting and fishing with her family. She excelled at whatever she did.
Maurice’s beloved husband James preceded her in death in 2006. She is survived by daughter Nelda Pool and her husband Bob of Sour Lake, son James (Jim) Pace and his wife Teresa of Round Rock, grandchildren Tom Pool, Pam Pool, Tracy Tangedal and Ryan Pace, and great-grandchildren Addison and Ashlyn Pool, and Hannah and Jake Tangedal. She is also survived by sisters JoAnn Munselle of Richardson, Norma Lou Howard of Dallas, and Merle Wells of Dallas.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, at Riley Funeral Home in Woodville at 10:00 a.m., followed immediately by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.If you wish to make a memorial contribution, please do so to the charity of your choice.
Maurice was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
