Obituary of Juanita West Thompson

Juanita West Thompson, 87, of Zavalla passed away peacefully unto her Lord on February 11, 2017. Born January 9, 1930 in Hemphill, Tx to the late Riley Jack and Lela Lewis West, she lived in Warren before moving to Zavalla twenty years ago. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Zavalla. Juanita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who loved and knew her. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luther Thompson, Sr.; sister, Mary Alice Spivey and a grandson, Robert Thompson, Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Robert Thompson of Friendswood, Luther Thompson, Jr. of Warren and James Waymon Thompson of Santa Fe, Tx; daughters, Patty Swartzh of Conroe and Lynn Russell of Zavalla; sister, Betty Stanley of Zavalla; brothers, Bobby West of Warren and Bill West of Moore, OK; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 13, 2017, at 2 pm at the Kitchens Cemetery near Zavalla, Tx. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 am until noon at Riley Funeral Home in Woodville.
