Obituary of Robert Earl Sharpton, Sr.

Robert Earl Sharpton, Sr., 74, of Broaddus, TX passed away January 30, 2017. He was born in Beaumont, TX on November 8, 1942 to Eugene Wilson and Hazel Louise Fry Sharpton. Robert worked in the chemical industry for forty years and was an ordained minister. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Gayle McCullough. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of fifty-two years, Pamela Barclay Sharpton of Broaddus; daughter Angela Hollis and husband Scott of Lake Charles, LA; son Robert Sharpton, Jr. and wife Brandi of Ragley, LA; grandchildren John Paul, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Dakota, Jacob, Noah, Haley, and Joshua Hollis, and Cade and Carli Beth Sharpton; sisters Bette French of Orange, TX, Rita Noland and husband Jerry of Beaumont, Karlene Boykin and husband Jimmy of Beaumont; brother Jerry Sharpton and wife Adelena of Beaumont; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Services for Robert will be held at 10 am on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, TX with Brother Cody Morgan officiating. He will be laid to rest at Sand Hill Cemetery in Colmesneil, TX. A visitation will be held at Riley Funeral Home from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, February 1, and on Thursday from 8:30 am until the start of services.
