Linda Whitworth

Obituary of Linda Sue Whitworth

Linda Sue Whitworth, 68, of Chester passed away January 8, 2017. Born September 30, 1948 in Livingston, Texas to Keith and Nadine Stutts, she grew up in Camden and graduated from Chester ISD. She married Joe Lynn Whitworth on April 22, 1967 and raised their family in Chester. She worked at Chester ISD for 39 years. She served as a teacher’s aide for eight years, high school secretary for twenty-four years and Admin Secretary for seven years. She served under eleven superintendents, Aubrey Bradley, Davis Malone, Royce Whitely, Lidney Thompson, Gary Gazaway, Rodney Clements, Glen Connor, Don Rhodes, John Kent, Kenneth Graham and Wayne Ivy. She was a member of Caney Creek Baptist Church and a permanent fixture in the community. She lived every day for her family, her best times in life were when her children, grandkids and great grandkids were coming over to eat her good cooking, going to all sports events, going to a rodeo or roping, cow show, FFA convention and her very favorite was going on vacations with family. When we got together at her house and we would pull out pictures and let me tell you there were BOXES of them because she always loved to take pictures of her family. It’s not fair because looking back there were not many of her because she was always behind the camera. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Nadine Stutts and her son, Rodney Whitworth. Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 49 years, Joe Lynn Whitworth; son, Jud Whitworth and with Wendy of Corrigan; daughter, Wendy Bendy and husband, Bo of Colmesneil; grandchildren, Lacy Brock of Chester, Paige Whitworth of Chester, Blake Whitworth of Chester, Keaton Whitworth of Corrigan, Cader Powell of Chester, Mylee Powell of Colmesneil, Levi and Jolee Sue Bendy of Colmesneil; great grandchildren, Sydney Brock, Chandler Brock, Bent Lynn Brock and Kinsley Powell; brother, Jerry Stutts and wife, Susan of Corrigan; sister-in-law, Nancy Moore and husband, Robert of Fred; nephews, Kris Moore and wife Charity of Weatherford, Bobby Moore and wife, Danyale of Buna, Phillip Moore and wife, Heather of Warren, Dusty Stutts and wife, Shelbe of Woodville, Tyler Stutts and wife, Lindsey of Corrigan. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 10 am at the Caney Creek Baptist Church in Polk County with Brother Mark Martin and Brother Larry Trest officiating.
