Obituary of Jonas Albert Crookes
Jonas Albert Crookes, 43, of Colmesneil passed away March 13, 2014.
Born November 5, 1970 in Washington, D.C. to Leslie and Donna Bakersmith Crookes, he grew up in Chester, Texas and graduated from Chester High School in 1989. Jonas was a fun loving person who always had a smile on his face and love in his heart for his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and nephew. He was a carpenter for Georgia Pacific at the Camden Plant.
Jonas was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ethel and George Crookes and Elva and Bill Bakersmith; and two cousins, Adam Logan and David Dansey.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Helen Crookes; daughters, Chazmin Crookes, Raelyn Crookes and Rylee Crookes; parents, Leslie and Donna Crookes; brother, Travis Crookes; aunts and uncles, Linda Passons, Susan and George Morris, Jean and George Crookes; and numerous cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at 12 noon at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with Father Michael Strother officiating. Eulogies were presented by Patrick Cherry and Roger Pate.
Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Don Cherry, Patrick Cherry, Dale Flowers, Butch Henson, Dennis Johnson, Kris Moore, Scott Owens, Roger Pate, Skipper Swearingen and Larry Thompson.
