Obituary of Bernice Ruth Crosby

Bernice Ruth Crosby of Woodville, TX passed away at the age of 82 on November 16, 2016. She was born in Fort Worth, TX to Sydney Albert and Mary Frances Lackey. She was the baby of nine children. Bernice was a longtime resident of Woodville and worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at the Terrell and Gib Lewis Units for twenty years where she was loved and highly respected. Survivors include her brother Clyde Lackey and wife Thelma of Fort Worth, TX; son David Crosby and wife Dorothy of Ava, MO; daughter-in-law Debra Crosby, wife of her late son Richard, of Woodville, TX; daughter Darlene Dyer and husband Earnest of Woodville, TX; and daughter Sharlene Craft of Merryville, LA. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation for Bernice will be held at Riley Funeral Home Chapel from 5-8 pm on Friday, November 18, 2016. Services will be held at the funeral home at 1 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
