Obituary of Margaret Leslie Williams Read

Margaret Leslie Williams Read, 78, of Jasper was born June 24, 1938, in Panola County to Emory Murry and Docia Lee Williams. She passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2016. Margaret is survived by her husband James Henry Read; daughters Shirley Marie Read, Joyce Ann “Jody” Read, Barbara Gail Simons and husband Paul Simons, Sandra Kay Read Moody; sons James Claiborne Read, Billy Jack Read, Roger Dale Read and wife Kendra, David Wayne Read and wife Cathy; grandchildren John Henry Morrow, Jamie Lee McCarrell, Jason William McCarrell, Michelle Nicole McCarrell, Marcus Shane Bradshaw, Leslie Sevela Stanley, Robert Daniel Michael, Travis Franklin Michael, Christan Faith Moody, Kimberly Darlene Giles, Rebekka Leanne Read; sister Dorothy Nell Austin; sister-in-law Bobbie Williams; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers George Lee Williams, Claburn Williams, Glen Williams, Grover Williams, James Thomas Williams, and Clovis Clifford Williams; sisters Imogene Waites and Sue Evans. Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Stanley, Gavin Stanley, Marcus Bradshaw, Alex Bradshaw, Jason McCarrell, and Jared Dale. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Emory Williams and Donald Jordan. Visitation for Margaret will be Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 5pm until 8pm. Services will be held at Riley Funeral Home Chapel at 10am on Friday, November 18, 2016. Margaret will be laid to rest at Ebenezer Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
