Bonnie was very athletic and was a champion water skier and skater. She graduated from Shelbyville High School where she was captain of the volleyball team. Her brother liked to joke that the reason she was captain is that she was the only person on the volleyball team! One of Bonnie’s greatest loves was dancing the waltz. The family would like to express how they can see Bonnie waltzing in Heaven. Left to cherish her memories are her son Randy Wells and wife Nancy of New Braunfels, TX; daughter Stephanie Wells Maddox and husband Eric of San Augustine, TX; sisters Edna Earl McCurtain and husband Ward of Beaumont, TX, Clydia Birdsall and husband Bob of Waco; brother Stephen J. Whitton of Houston; grandchildren Brandy Hines Coleman of San Augustine, TX, John Ryan Wells of Kyle, TX, Ranea Pomery of San Antonio, TX , Susan Wells Wharton of Frankfurt, Germany; Great-grandchildren Caitlyn Coleman, Sydney Jo Wharton, and Amy Grace Wells. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Dogwood Trails Manor Nursing Facility and Bristol Hospice. A special thank you goes out to Iris Hensarling for years of dedicated service as Bonnie’s caregiver. Services are under the direction of Riley Funeral Home, Woodville, TX.
