Obituary of Joan Ellen Johnson

Joan Ellen Johnson, 75, of Hillister passed away July 7, 2016. Born September 8, 1940 in Vidor, Texas to the late Robert and Myrtle Spoonemore Revia, she lived in Hillister for many years. She was the manager for RPM. She was a member of the Trinity Assemble of God Church in Woodville. Joan was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew and loved her. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Myrtle Revia; husband of 52 years, James William Johnson; sisters, Rosie Whitmire, Dorothy Duvall, Gertie Matthews,and Dorris Baker; granddaughter, Sharie Eddins. She is survived by her loving family, daughters, Chris Ogrodowicz and husband, James of Woodville, Sandy Braddock and husband, Shane of Spurger; sons, James Johnson and wife, Lisa of Chester, Robert Johnson and wife, Dot of Lumberton; sisters, Mary Bartholdi of Lumberton and Alice Cessac of Vidor; sisters-in-law, Grace Johnson and Jane Smith both of Houston; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Funeral service will be held Sunday, July 10, 2016, at 4 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Watts officiating. Burial will follow at the Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016, from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
