Obituary of Howard Dwain Walker
Howard Dwain “H.D.” Walker, 89, of Port Arthur formerly of Woodville passed away peacefully on June 11, 2016.
Born June 30, 1926 in Lufkin, TX to the late Robert and Florence Coleman Walker, he lived in Beaumont before moving to Woodville after retiring from the railroad as a switchman. He later moved to Port Arthur to be closer to his son. He was a member of the Dogwood Hills Baptist Church in Woodville and a U.S. Army Veteran. H. D. enjoyed hunting and fishing but loved the Lord and his family with all his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie Walker; son, Howard Walker, Jr. and a brother, Guy Walker.
H. D. leaves to cherish his memories his sons, Joel L. Walker and Kent Walker both Beaumont; grandchildren, Anna Walker, Micah Walker and Emily Walker Ayers and husband Jason; brothers, Charlie Walker of Beaumont and Frank Walker of Austin; sister, Eunice Quarles of Lufkin; daughter-in-law Debbie Walker; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Harold Compton and In memory of Alan “Tweet” Wheeler.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at 10:30 am at the Fielder Cemetery in Huntington, TX with Brother Chad Barnes. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2016, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Riley Funeral Home, Woodville.
