Obituary of Jackie Annette Cowart
Jackie Annette Hancock Cowart, 73, of Silsbee passed away May 23, 2016.
Born January 5, 1943 in Woodville, Texas to the late A. C. and Nora Hancock, she was raised in Chester, Texas but lived in Emily, Texas 11 miles out of Woodville for 34 years. Jackie retired from Westat Corporation as a survey supervisor and worked for the U.S. Census Bureau for 3 different censuses.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Kay Cowart and two oldest children, Jack Alan and Sandra.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Cowart and wife, Patricia of Emily, Alan Ray Cowart of Alabama; daughters, Terri Stuart and husband, Ricky of Silsbee, Denise Mott and husband, Kyle of Lumberton; sisters, Elaine Anderson of Algoa and Pauline Watson of Lufkin; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren with one on the way and a host of nieces, nephews and a world of friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kirby Lewis Cowart officiating. Burial will follow at the Mahaffey Cemetery near Chester, Tx. Visitation will be held be Thursday from 12 noon until the time of the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Stuart, Ricky Stuart, Jonathan Crabtree, Gary Watson, Curtis Parton and Roy James. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Cowart and Ronald Cowart.
