Obituary of Minnie Louise Blake

Minnie Louise Blake, 76, of Spurger passed away May 21, 2016. Born August 9, 1939 in Woodville, Tx to the late George and Ina Welch Gore, she lived in Tyler County most of her life. She was a retired LVN who worked at the Tyler County Hospital and Piney Wood Acres Nursing Home in Corrigan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jimmy Carol Thompson and a brother, Vernon Stott. She is survived by her loving family, husband, Jimmy B. Blake; daughters, Sharon Kay Johnson of Huntsville and Carolyn Diann Coons of Warren; sons, Elton W. Thompson of Spurger, James Kevin Thompson of Zavalla, Donald Stewart Thompson of Colmesneil, Allen Dwayne Thompson of Colmesneil and Jesse L. Thompson of Dayton; sister, Ima Oralie Gore of Groveton; brother, George W. Gore, Jr. of Teague; sixteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at 10 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Chester, Tx. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016, from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Elton W. Thompson, Jr., Elton Johnson, III, Kenneth W. Coons, Jr., Mark A. Coons, Craig Thompson and Phillip Gore.
