Obituary of Kevin DeWitt Burks

Kevin DeWitt Burks, 49, of Corrigan passed away May 15, 2016. Born September 11, 1966 in Alvin, Tx to Ocie and Rhonda Wilkins Burks, he lived in Corrigan most of his life. He was a welder by trade. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew and loved him. Kevin is preceded in death by his father, Ocie Keith Burks; sister-in-law, Lisa Blevins nephews, Caleb Blevins, Alex Johnson and Justin Grimes; parents-in-law, Leo and Barbara Vinson. He is survived by his loving wife, Amiee Burks; mother and step-father, Rhonda and Danny Munson of Schwab, Tx; daughter, Karoline Stutzenburg and husband, Matthew of Lufkin; sons, Peter Burks and wife, Lindsay of Corrigan, S. K. Burks and wife, Katy of Corrigan and Daren Stanley Burks of Corrigan; brothers, Dewayne Burks of Corrigan and Sean Burks and wife, Leslie of Corrigan; sisters, Rene Zaher and husband Naser of La Port, Tx. Karen Hooks of Moscow, Tx and Evie Hubbard and husband, Andy of Corrigan; grandchildren, Ember, Avalynn, Kayden and Aubrey Burks, Jameson, Kullen and Baby Burks, and Baby Stutzenburg; sisters-in-law, Benita Citrano and husband, Anthony of Barnum, Pam Loftin of Barnum, Jeannie Johnson and husband, Dennis of Chester, Chryl Pounds and husband, Todd of Woodville and Tisha Martin and husband, Tom of Pinegrove; brother-in-law, Johnny Hooks; and numerous other family members and friends. Services will be held Friday, May 20, 2016 at 4:oo pm at First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Corrigan. Visitation will be on Thursday night at the church from 6:00-8:00 pm. He will be buried at Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan. Services are under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
