Obituary of Robert Thomas Mott

Robert Thomas Mott, 91, of Spurger passed away March 31, 2016. He was born September 8, 1924 in Concord, TX to Willie Needum and Erma Laverne Marshall Mott. He served our country in the Army during WWII. He was a First Class welder and retired from Mobil Oil with thirty-four years of service. Robert was a long-time member and a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Spurger, TX. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bernice Henry Mott; sister Lois Mott; and granddaughter Stacy Mott. He is survived by his wife, Margie Mott; children Aline and Dennis Whitmire of Buna; Kathy and Phillip Broom of Woodville; Rusty and Judy Mott of Spurger; Marvin and Kathy Mott of Spurger; sisters Wanda Cooper of Austin and Sue Jones and husband Ken of San Antonio; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Spurger on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 5-8 pm. Services are scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the church followed by burial at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Services are under the direction of Riley Funeral Home, Woodville.
