Obituary of John H. Schultz, Jr.

John H. Schultz, Jr. was born September 23, 1923 in Navarra County, TX to John Schultz, Sr. and Artie Mae Rice Schultz. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Laura Ross; brothers Clarance and bobby Schultz; wife Vernice Yawn Schultz; son Larry W. Schultz; and granddaughter Christie Jo Carrell. He is survived by his daughter Sherry Schultz; grandchildren: Jonathan Schultz, Zach Carrell, Natasha Carter, Larry Wayne Schultz; great grandchildren: Trinity Schultz, Nicholas Schultz, Kollby, Kollson, Derek, and Ryan Carter; sister Lillian Parker; brothers Alton, Vance, Floyd and Harvey Schultz (Pat); very special friends George and Laura VonKanel; Dennis Opiela and Teach; Tons of adored nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. Visitation will be held at Riley Funeral Home in Woodville, TX from 6-8 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2016. Services will be held at Riley Funeral Home at 11 am on Friday, March 25, 2016. He will be buried at Baker Bell Cemetery. John was a WWII veteran who served his country in the South Pacific. He was an avid hunter, trapper, fisherman, and gardener. You were always welcome at his home where he always had a pot of coffee on. He raised extra vegetables so he could take some to the ladies at the bank and give to neighbors and friends. He never needed anything because he was happy with what he had. He was a family man: the most important thing to him was family. He is gone to the lease.
