Obituary of Hugh Randolph Stafford

Hugh (Randy) Randolph Stafford, 62, of Woodville, born to Hugh Albert (Bouncer) and Janie Stafford of Woodville on November 3, 1953, lost his eight year battle with heart disease on February 14, 2016. Randy was an active and vital member of Hillister Baptist Church. He served on numerous committees, choir, usher, construction of New Life Center, and as needed electrician. Prior to being disabled, he was employed by E&L/Griffin Chipping for twenty years as a millwright/electrician. Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Albert and Mary Jane McNeil Stafford; sister, Beatrice (Bea) Mitcham; and brother, Hugh Albert(Bo) Stafford. Randy is survived by his children, Dustin Albert Stafford of Woodville, Janet Ratcliff and husband Milton of Spurger, James Tones of Waller, Jason Tones of Willis; Grandchildren, Austin Avery Hugh Stafford, Summer McInnis, Michael McInnis, James McInnis, Taylor Tones, Alix Tones, Keith Tones, Carlie Tones, Mary Tones; Great Granddaughter, Allie Morgan; sister Bobbie McCollum; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Valentine's Day is for love, and Randy was very loving, caring and the kindest person despite being grumpy when he didn't feel well. Randy was not a rich man, but always said he could give his time. He volunteered a lot and did many electrical jobs for people without asking for a dime. He was very active in his church and would tithe before his bills and his thirteen medications. He never complained until the end and did not want to die. He fought for sixteen hours, coming back five times. Randy had been battling heart disease for eight years. He had several heart attacks and was diagnosed with high blood pressure, diabetic coronary disease, diabetic neuropathy and had six bypasses and his back was destroyed. Our family asks that you enjoy a mint, drink some iced tea and give some of your time to your fellow human being in this world. It is the most valuable treasure we all have for Randy. Sometimes we are dealt a bad deck of cards in life, but anything can be reshuffled with faith and so that you can make the most out of it and be a blessing to receive a blessing. The Stafford family asks that you come celebrate Randy and his testimony to life at the visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2016 at Riley Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services for Randy are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Hillister Baptist Church with Brothers Clark Mahoney and Jacob Spivey officiating.
