Obituary of Beulah Estelle Conklin

On December 29, 2015, God called Beulah Estelle Strickland Conklin home to her family’s arms in Heaven. She was a native of Oxford, Alabama and a longtime resident of Vidor, Texas. A loving wife and mother, a dedicated nurse for 30 years with a passion for her practice and patients. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. She was a loving, out-going and generous woman throughout her life, even through her 10 year battle with breast cancer. She was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart and beloved husband of 45 years, Patrick Ledale Conklin, Sr., her father, Ernest Jewell Strickland, her mother Gladys Hubbard McMicheal, her sister Rebecca Stone, and her brother Clarence L. McMicheal. She is survived by her sons, James Jordan II (Jessica) and Patrick L. Conklin, Jr. (Chastity) and a daughter Vanity V. Stephenson (Brent), her sisters Faye Fergeson and Betty K Gorham, and her 11 grandchildren. Services are scheduled at Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, Texas at 2pm on Saturday, January 2, 2016 with visitation from noon until the start of services. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Town Bluff.
