Obituary of John Craig Fortenberry

John C. Fortenberry passed away at Harbour Hospital after a long illness. Visitation will be from 11am - 1pm on Wednesday at Riley Funeral Home in Woodville, TX followed by a graveside service at Magnolia Cemetery. Johnny was born in Beaumont on December 19, 1943 to E.O. "Pete" and Verna Fortenberry. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force and served four years. He worked for Halliburton Oil Services and retired from Mobile Oil Exploration. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cecile Duplissey. He leaves behind his wife of fifty years, Paula; daughter Terri Fortenberry of Montgomery; son John and wife Tara Fortenberry of Lumberton; grandchildren Jonathon Fortenberry of Lumberton, Erinne Fortenberry of LaPorte, Jace and Ava Fortenberry of Lumberton; great grandson Gabriel Fortenberry of Lumberton; sister Sandie Bandsma and husband Spencer of Gruene; aunts Sadie Adams of Silsbee, Juanita Fortenberry of Fairfield, TX , Merlene Fortenberry of Woodville. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
