Obituary of Helen Marie Barlow

Helen Marie Barlow, 72, of Woodville passed away September 24, 2015. She was born April 21, 1943 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Willie and Sally Mae Wells. Helen was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a senior choir member. She was a cook at the Pickett House restaurant. She will be missed by all who loved her. Helen married Lee Chester Barlow on January 18, 1965 in Woodville and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister Louella Mae Wells; and brother Willie James “Joe” Wells. Left to cherish her memory are her children Warlea Midkiff of Woodville, Clinton Barlow of Houston, Shahara McCartney of Dallas, Fredrick Barlow of Woodville, and Laquanda Browning of Lufkin; sisters Floria Mae Lewis of Houston, Deloris McCartney of Phoenix, AZ, and Maxine Bean of Doucette; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; numerous other family members and many friends. Funeral services will be held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Woodville at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 3, 2015 with Elder John Barefield officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until the start of service.
