Obituary of Jack Griffith

Jack Griffith, 86, of Spurger passed away peacefully on August 9, 2015. Born April 12, 1929 in Spurger, Texas to Charlie and Nella Jeffcoat Griffith, he lived in Spurger all of his life. He was recently retired from the oilfield in January 2014 with over 50 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran whose great love was fishing and his family. He was a honest and hard working man who never met a stranger and was loved by all. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Daniel Griffith and a granddaughter, Britney Sturrock. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Jeneta Griffith; children, Edward Earl Jenkins and wife, Nedra, Teresa Stephens and husband, Ronnie, Jack Randall Griffith and fiancé, Tracy Dean; grandchildren, Stephanie Gray, Edward Earl Jenkins, Jr., Amanda Jenkins, Alyson Rainey, Amanda Griffith, Cidney Sturrock, Seth Griffith, and Jackson Griffith; eight great grandchildren and nieces and nephews who were special to Jack. Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 4 pm at Riley Funeral Home with Brother Robert McClelland officiating. Burial followed at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Visitation is on Wednesday from 2 pm until time of the service. Serving as pallbearers are Robert Robinson, Willie Robinson, Henry Robinson, Edward Earl Jenkins, Jr., David Beeson and Wayne Sims.
