Obituary of Billy Frank Griffith

Billy Frank Griffith, 78, passed away January 16, 2014. Born June 14, 1935 to Charlie and Nellie Jeffcoat Griffith, he lived in Zavalla for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gale Yates; sons, Rick, Carl and Scott;grandsons, Zackary Hitchcock and John Ramsey; brother, Johnnie Griffith; sisters, Lucy Griffith, Judy Touchette, Cleatha Hare and Bertni Willis. Billy is survived by his wife, Portland Griffith; children, D'Juana and Jimmy Tomlin, Abbie and Billy Simmons, Joan and Will Ferguson, Tina and Mark Schick, Cindy and Joel Hitchcock and Frank Barnes; brothers, Jack Griffith, Sam Griffith and M. R. Griffith; sisters, Willie Mae Gilson and Charlie Nell Hancock; sisters-in-law, Dianne Creekmore, Bonnie Cone and Deborah Rollins,;brothers-in-law, Steve James and Joe James; twenty-three grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 pm at Riley Funeral Home with burial to follow at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home
