Obituary of Cleo Lavella Brown Railey

Cleo Lavella Brown Railey of Woodville, Texas, 82 years young, passed peacefully to our Lord on April 24, 2015 at 5:23 AM, during a brief stay at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas. Memorial service will be held at the Campground Baptist Church in Woodville, Texas on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Lavella was born and raised in Port Arthur, Texas on June 19, 1932 to Amos and Cleo Brown. Her dad was a Baptist preacher and a bakery owner. Her mom passed when she was young and she assumed the role of mom to her siblings at the time. She married Donald on September 1, 1950, and remained married to him for their entire lifetime. She was a Christian in every definition of the word. Doing for everyone, anything required by them. She was a great mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a kind and loving person who never met a stranger. Her sense of humor brought joy to all that knew her. Lavella's favorite personal pastime was quilting. Lavella was known by many names: Me Too, Mama, Vella, Cleo, Vanilla, Grandma, Aunt, and Grams, but most knew her by Lavella! She is survived by her daughters, June Denise Peterson and James of Woodville, Texas and Donna Lee Carlock and Michael of Aransas Pass, Texas, sisters Opal Brown of Winnie, Texas, Shirley Partlow of Livingston, Texas, Bobby Miller of Vinton, Louisiana and brothers Alvin Brown and Jean of Conroe, Texas and Danny Brown and Becky of Morgan City, Louisiana and sister-in-law, Susie Brown of Rockledge, Florida. Lavella has 9 grand children, Rob Wyche and Laila, Kari Bollich and Cody, Kelli Kibler and Ben, James Stewart, Christina James and Daryl, Ed Turner and Marcy, Stacie Turner, Travis Peterson and Jeni Peterson. Lavella also has 8 Great Grand Children and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased in death by her mother, Cleo Brown, father, Amos Brown, step mother, Norma Brown, husband, Donald Edward Railey, son, Donald Edward Railey, Jr., daughter, Linda Carol Bucklew, sister, Olive Odem, and brother, Amos Brown. Lavella was loved dearly by all who knew her and will be greatly missed! May the Lord keep her in peace and for eternity.
