Obituary of Bobbie Jean Fowler

Bobbie Jean Fowler, 88, of Colmesneil went to be with the Lord April 4, 2015. Born November 7, 1926 to Robert and Sarah Fowler, she was a registered nurse for 50 + years. She was an avid animal lover and contributed to many organizations to aid in their care. She was a longtime member of the Colmesneil Cemetery Association and worked to help better the existing cemetery. Bobbie was generous to a fault. She donated to multiple charities and loved her church, the 1st Baptist Church of Colmesneil. She loved people and adopted many friends and neighbors as family. She was a respected member of the Colmesneil Community and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters and a brother. Bobbie is survived by her niece, Anita Drake and husband, Simeon of Kirbyville; nephew, Joel Fowler and wife, Sandra of Bridge City; niece, Laura Potter and husband, Bill of Rosharon; her adopted family members, Wade and Jackie Skinner and William “Brother-in-Law” and Dorothy Jacobson; and a host of great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 11 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Brian Givens officiating. Burial will follow at the Colmesneil City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations to the charity of your choice, animal shelters or the 1st Baptist Church of Colmesneil.
