Obituary of Robert Edgar Jones

Robert Edgar “Bob” Jones Robert Edgar “Bob” Jones, 79, of Warren passed away March 21, 2015. Robert was born on May 3, 1935 to Charles W. Jones and Una Blanch Bean Jones in Emily, Texas. He was married to Arvilla Smith Jones on December 9, 1955 in Fontana, California, where he served in the U. S. Marine Corps for three years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Roger, CW and Leroy Jones and one son, Tracy Wayne. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Arvilla; daughters, Nancy Duhon Jones and Teresa Diane Adair; three sons, Robert Eugene Jones, Michael James Jones and Tommy Dale Jones; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A grave side service was held Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at 1 pm at the Williams Cemetery near Warren with Brother Clark Mahoney officiating. A horse drawn wagon took Robert from his home in Warren to the cemetery as per his wishes. Visitation was held Monday evening at Robert’s residence in Warren, Texas. Serving as pallbearers were Charles A. Adair, Shane T. Adair, Casey Jones, Robby Jones, Michael Paul Jones, Blake Adair and Jonathan Durbin. Honorary pallbearers were Bill E. Jones, David Leroy Jones, Robert Eugene Jones, Michael James Jones, Tommy Dale Jones, Tommy Adair and Chuck Adair. Services were held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
