Obituary of Smead Maxwell Braswell

Smead Maxwell (Max) Braswell died on February 16, 2015 at age 83. He was born in Camden, Arkansas on June 4, 1931 to Smead E. and Juanita G. Braswell. Max graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School and attended Lamar Uneiversity where he earned both Mechanical and Industrial Engineering degrees. He retired from Ameripol-Synpol in Port Neches, Texas in 1983. After retirement, he resided in Warren, TX. Max was a dedicated husband and father. He was happily married to Alyce Janyce Braswell for fifty-eight years. He is also survived by three aughters: Sherrill Concienne and husband Kurt and their three children, Erica, Shane and Max; Lisa Grayson and husband Dale and their three children, Chelsea, Connor and Reese; Joni Crosby and her late husband John Henry Crosby; one great-grandchild, Lienna Shane, daughter of Chelsea Grayson. His surviving niece and nephew are Ann Strange Woodall and Bobby Strange. Max was preceded in death by his parents Smead and Juanita Braswell and his sister Violet Ladd. Max brought a refreshing and understated confidence to every aspect of his life. His joking manner and kind heart brought a smile to everyone who met him. Through daily example he taught us the spirited embrace of life, and the importance of Goad and family above all else. Thank you Daddy, Papa, Uncle Max – for loving us and leaving us with memories and joy that will guide our lives for generations to come. Services are scheduled for 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015 with visitation from 11:00 until start of service. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Warren. Arrangements under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
