Obituary of Roy Elmer Williams

Roy Elmer Williams, 76, of Colmesneil passed away peacefully on January 21, 2015 at his residence. Born April 14, 1938 in Woodville, Tx to the late Roy and Bertie Odom Williams, he lived in Tyler County all of his life. He joined the United States Air Force where he chose to serve his country for over 21 years. After retiring he moved to Colmesneil where he enjoyed his remaining years with his family and served the Lord at Katy Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, R. C. Williams and a sister, Helen Gee. Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Williams; twin sister, Delma Clark of Friendswood; sisters, Shirley LeBlanc of Crowley, LA and Lynda Roberts and husband, Harry of Kountze; daughters, Dawn Tesch and husband, Scott of St. George, UT and Bonnie Stevens of Colmesneil; step-children, Kem Cheney and husband, Glenn of Colmesneil, Kyle Russell and wife, Brenda of Warren, and Kenny Russell and wife, Susan of Warren; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and twenty-one step great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. Funeral service was held Monday, January 26, 2015, at 2 pm at the Katy Baptist Church with Bubba Sheffield officiating. Burial followed at Colmesneil City Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday from 5 – 7 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers were William Clark, Michael Milson, Shane Clowers, Saxton Tesch, Todd Daniels, and Levi Roberts.
